Every daily puzzle I love — the Times crossword, Connections, Immaculate Grid — is built by someone who cares. There's a shape to that care: a fair puzzle, one attempt, a copy-pasteable score to send to your group chat. Sports fandom deserved the same thing.

Sportsman is my answer. It's five hand-tuned puzzles a day, real athletes, trivia questions written to reward the fan who's been paying attention. Play it in the elevator, brag in your group chat, come back tomorrow. That's the deal.

Common questions

＋Is Sportsman really free?
Yes. Every daily puzzle is free. Guest visitors get one try per day with no sign-up. Signing up (also free) unlocks 3 attempts per category, streaks, achievements, and leaderboards.
＋How does scoring work?
Points come from correct trivia (with a streak multiplier), time bonuses, and a bonus for solving with unused fouls. Direct-guessing the whole name early pays out more, and the featured Daily Gridiron has a 1.25× leaderboard multiplier.
＋Do I need to know every athlete?
No — that's the point of trivia questions and the Scouting Report lifeline. If you're a casual fan, you can still puzzle your way to the answer. If you're a superfan, you'll finish fast for a bigger bonus.
＋Can I play with friends?
Yes. Every account gets a friend code and a shareable challenge link — your friends can hop in as guests without signing up. Race, Tug-of-War, or CPU modes are all supported.
＋What about privacy?
We store your game results and a display name. That's it. We don't sell data. Full policy at /privacy.
